Applied Reproduction Strategies in Beef Cattle Symposium
This site provides online coverage of the Applied Reproductive Strategies in Beef Cattle (ARSBC) symposium. The Beef Reproduction Leadership Team and the Beef Reproduction Task Force work together to plan and host ARSBC symposia. The purpose of the program is to (1) improve the understanding of the physiological processes of the estrous cycle, the procedures available to synchronize estrus and ovulation, and the proper application of these systems; and (2) improve the understanding of methods to assess male fertility and how it affects the success of artificial insemination programs. The Angus Journal began online coverage of the symposium in 2008.
Beef Improvement Federation Annual Meeting and Research Symposium
This site provides online coverage of the Beef Improvement Federation (BIF) annual meeting. BIF was formed to provide a means to standardize programs and methodology and create greater awareness, acceptance and useage of beef cattle performance records. The annual meeting and research symposium offers a means to discuss and evaluate traditional and new concepts in beef cattle improvement. Topics discussed at each symposium are displayed online through symposium papers, newsroom articles and other informational postings. Listen to audios of presentations and view archives from previous conferences. The most recent conferences include photo galleries covering the conferences and tours. The Angus Journal has provided online coverage of this the BIF symposium since 2002.
Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade Show
This site provides online coverage of the Cattle Industry Annual Convention & NCBA Trade Show. The Convention, conducted annually in January-February, the conference features the joint and individual meetings of five industry organizations — the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA), the Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board (CBB), the American National CattleWomen Inc. (ANCW), Cattle-Fax and the National Cattlemen's Foundation (NCF). The Angus Journal has provided online coverage of the Cattle Industry Annual Convention since 2003. Special attention is devoted to the Cattlemen's College, Issues Forums and other sessions with production management information that can be applied at the ranch level.
This site provides online coverage of the Range Beef Cow Symposium. This biennial symposium is sponsored by the Cooperative Extension Service and animal science departments of South Dakota State University, Colorado State University, the University of Wyoming and the University of Nebraska. It has a reputation of being an excellent educational program, offering practical production management information. The Angus Journal has provided online coverage of the event since 2003.
National Angus Conference & Tour
This site provides online coverage of the National Angus Conference & Tour, hosted on a year-by-year basis by the American Angus Association. The programs have include an educational session with speakers, as well as a tour featuring cattle operations and industry in the host state. Visit the site for summaries and supporting materials of presentations, as will as photo galleries from the conference and tour. Angus Journal has provided online coverage of the event since 2000.
