The 67th Minnesota Nutrition Conference will feature dairy, beef, swine and poultry nutrition topics. Hosted at the Holiday Inn Saint Paul/East hotel, the conference highlights feeding standards for organic production, the influence of immune status on nutrient requirements and the latest on new distillers’ dried grains with solubles (DDGS) products.
The Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS), FDA, Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other food/animal health organizations will host the food safety conference at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Denver. International, federal, state and local experts will present cutting-edge information on at-risk populations for foodborne illness. Kansas State University (K-State) will host its 2006 Beef Stocker Field Day at the KSU Beef Stocker Unit in Manhattan. The annual event will feature animal ID discussion and practical management tips to optimize stocker operations. Discussion topics will also include the effects of added value programs on beef stocker producers, relevance of implants, forage quality variations and more. Registration at the door is $30. A second set of listening sessions on cooperative conservation and environmental partnerships has been scheduled. The sessions will take place at the following locations.
The listening sessions will give citizens an opportunity to exchange ideas on incentives, partnership programs, and regulations that can improve results and promote cooperative conservation and environmental partnerships.
