Nov. 8, 2005 Angus Events Scheduled American Angus Association members from across the nation will gather Nov. 12-15 during the 2005 North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) in Louisville, Ky., to participate in annual Angus events and conduct Association business. Throughout the four-day event, the NAILE, which will take place at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center (KFEC), will showcase a Super-Point Roll of Victory (ROV) Angus Show as well as a junior heifer show. In addition, the Association will present a breeders educational program beginning at 1 p.m., Sunday in the KFEC South Wing. The program will feature speakers Vern Pierce, University of Missouri ag economist, and Tom Brink of Five Rivers Ranch Cattle Feeding LLC. An open meeting for Board candidates and delegates will follow the educational program, and the Associations 122nd Annual Convention of Delegates is scheduled for the following day. More than 370 delegates from 45 states, the District of Columbia and Canada are expected to attend. The Angus Foundation and American Angus Auxiliary also have key events planned. The Angus Foundation will celebrate its 25th anniversary with its Silver Anniversary Supporter Recognition Event and Fundraiser, which is by invitation to those who have contributed $250 or more to the Angus Foundation in fiscal year (FY) 2005. Following the event, the American Angus Auxiliary will conduct its annual meeting. Additional educational workshops and social events are also scheduled. R-CALF to Host Meeting Ranchers-Cattlemen Action Legal Fund United Stockgrowers of America (R-CALF USA) will host its first regional meeting east of the Mississippi, in conjunction with Louisville events. The meeting, themed Building a Strong National Voice for Independent Cattle Producers, will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, in the King William Room at the Executive West Hotel. R-CALF USA Region VIII Director Gene Barber and R-CALF USA volunteer Dave Hutchins, of West Mansfield, Ohio, will host the event. Registration for the meeting starts at 4 p.m. Mix 30-Agri-Dyne is sponsoring the event. |
