Cattlemen’s College nears

JAN. 24, 2005 — For cattle producers attending the Cattle Industry Annual Convention & Trade Show, the Cattlemen’s College® is traditionally among the most informative and educational opportunities. Sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, the Cattlemen’s College kicks off convention activities on Wednesday, Feb. 2. All convention events will be at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center from Feb. 2-5 in San Antonio, Texas.

Morning classes in the areas of production, marketing and resource management will enable participants to customize a full day of education to their specific needs. Presentation highlights include "Marketing Your Way to Profitability," featuring Errol Baxter of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and "The Cost of Meeting Consumer Demand," with John Lawrence of the Iowa Beef Center. Ron Hanson of the University of Nebraska will also conclude his series on transfer of family farm and ranch operations between generations.

The Cattlemen’s College Luncheon, also sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, will feature entertainment by James "Doc" Blakely, a noted humorist, author and musician.

Wednesday afternoon will feature the Cattle-Fax Outlook Seminar, sponsored by Purina Mills LLC and Pfizer Animal Health, which will offer a look ahead at cattle markets. The seminar is free to Cattlemen’s College registrants and to Cattle-Fax members.
