AMERICAN ANGUS ASSOCIATION PLEDGES
SUPPORT TO NATIONAL RELIEF EFFORTS

The American Angus Association, its officers, board of directors, employees and staff, has pledged its support to our nation and those who perished, suffered and experienced loss in the September 11 terrorist attacks. The American Angus Association will make a donation to the American Red Cross to aid in relief efforts and to help it prepare for the role it will play as America brings those at fault to justice.

"Our nation has experienced a terrible tragedy, and the physical and emotional affects of that tragedy on the family and friends of our membership have been felt across the nation," says Richard L. Spader, executive vice president for the American Angus Association. "The American Angus Association is making this contribution on behalf of Angus breeders, and at the same time challenging them to make a personal donation as well. We’re proud to be part of the united American front to ensure our safety and freedoms in these United States."

In addition to a monetary donation, which will be determined by the Association’s board of directors in November, the Association also encourages Angus breeders across America, and others in agriculture, to give their support to relief efforts in New York City and Washington, D.C.

Donations can be made to the American Red Cross by mailing a check, made out to the American Red Cross, to American Red Cross, P.O. Box 97089, Washington, D.C. 20090-7089 or by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW. Please write "National Disaster Relief Fund" on the bottom of the check to indicate where it should be used.
